The Architecture of Remembrance


How few people know that the War Graves and Memorials to the Great War were designed and laid out by the three greatest architects of the time, Lutyens, Blomfield and Baker. Despite the fact that they all clashed with mighty egos, their legacy and architectural genius is responsible for these silent battalions and temples of serenity that we recognize now as the Commonwealth War Graves and Monuments.
